Lucy Hargrave

The purpose of this packaging is to Package goats milk soap in a unique and more appealing way.
Designed in collaboration with Josh Tatarynowicz, these packages were for a handmade goats milk soap company called soap works.
I researched more into goats milk soap and found that Goat milk soap is very beneficial to the skin and is especially helpful for those with dry skin.

Lucy Hargrave has used a range of 4 colours for each different type and smell of goats milk soap, blue, yellow, red and orange. These colours represent the type of smell and mood that the soap is, E.g. the blue one is peppermint and lavender which is the calming and soothing soap.
These are simple nets but have nice features such as intricate Mandala patterns on front of each of the boxes so that the customer buying the product can smell the soap through the packaging. This Net packaging also has this flap that opens up to reveal the contents in the packaging.

A simple neat hand written looking font has been used on the front and back of the packaging. This font is neatly aligned and the font along with the Mandala designs works really well and makes the packaging look really posh and luxurious. The company name 'Soapworks' has also been cut out in the side of the box in a simple stencil font.
No illustrations or photographs have been used on this packaging but these four different Mandala patterns have been laser cut out of the front of each packaging. I feel that these patterns have been created and designed digitally and then laser cut on the box. I really like these patterns because they make the packaging more appealing to the customer as they look unique and handmade. Also because these designs are cut out this allows people to be able to smell the soap product through the packaging.
On the front of the package under the Mandala design it says what type of goats milk soap it is and what scent it gives of, E.g. on the blue one its says peppermint and lavender. On the back there is then more text explaining the type of soap, about the company and there handmade soap, ingredients and also care instructions on how to use.
