Tien-Min waas born and raised in Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating from National Chengchi University in Taiwan with a BA degree in Advertising, she got the Ministry of Education Scholarship to advance her education at Pratt Institute.
In this typographic experiment Tien Min Liao painted on her hands to create shapes on one or both of her hands, then forming her hands in different ways to create an upper-case or lower case letter. Tien Min Liao create the whole alphabet from this experiment and created many animations and videos from it.
I like my lower case 'b' but feel my upper case 'B' could have been improved by forming it in a different way.
